Olvido Amor: Trans, el derecho a la identidad.

¿Cómo hablar de la periferia? Periférico es todo aquello que se sale de control, que corrompe un sistema, que vive en los límites, que se adhiere a los márgenes, que pone en duda, que ocasiona cuestionamiento, que se subleva, que revoluciona, que se levanta, que organiza las insurrecciones, es todo lo que no encaja, lo que resiste, lo que se niega a jugar el juego siguiendo las reglas, es la posibilidad de cambio, de algo nuevo.

Periférico es lo abyecto, lo que ocasiona un profundo miedo a lo hegemónico, es el atentado, el golpe de estado, el estallido, lo que se quiere oculto, de lo que no se habla, lo prohibido, el tabú, lo desagradable, el estigma, lo endemoniado, la mancha que nunca termina de limpiarse. Periférica es la obra de Mario Patiño.

How to speak of the periphery? Peripheral is all that gets out of control, that corrupts a system, that lives on the edge, that adheres to the margins, that puts in doubt, that causes questioning, that rebels, that revolutionizes, that rises, that organizes insurrections, it’s everything that doesn’t fit, that resists, that refuses to play the game by the rules, it’s the possibility of change, of something new.

Peripheral is the abject, what causes a deep fear of the hegemonic, it’s the outrage, the putsch, the outbreak, what’s wanted hidden, of what’s not spoken, the forbidden, the taboo, the obnoxious, the stigma, the demoniac, the stain that never comes off. Peripheral is the work of art of Mario Patiño.

La obra de Mario Patiño no busca consenso discursivo ni mucho menos estético. Todo lo contrario: de manera deliberada inserta su trabajo, por cierto con parámetros de una belleza difícilmente descriptible, debido a que discrepa del canon con el que tradicionalmente se ha relacionado.  Y es que Mario Patiño tiene la habilidad de replantear el binomio plástico-visual con los cuerpos humanos que gravitan en la periferia del género.
